Pheasant and female blackbird

Saw this female blackbird whilst doing my big garden bird watch, after thinking the male who visits the garden was a bachelor his misses goes and shows up.



Looked out the window to the feeders and saw this guy having a scratch around. Ive heard him in the summer and think he nests in the field just down the road. Ive only seen him once before as he flew over my head into the field so was quite chuffed when he was in my garden.
Photos taken through upstairs window and realised the ISO was too low as it was quite dark so alot of pics didn't come out too well, got 2 good ones but accidently deleted the other lol

Nest box camera

Ive just purchased a nest box camera from www.handykam.com. £102 is a little steep but did some research and these guys came out on top of quite a few lists as top quality suppliers.

Hopefully it will be here by the end of the weeks so I can set it up. Ive already got a regular nest box on side of the house but wanted to attract more birds to the garden, hopefully by providing good nesting sites I can achieve this.

My very own springwatch lol I will keep you updated on any residents moving in etc.
